POLISH CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES
Polish Christian Ministries exists to encourage and coordinate the planting of New Testament churches in Poland.
Polish Christian Ministries operates under the oversight of a Guidance Committee composed of individuals from supporting churches.
This work is a multi-faceted ministry involving:
- Planting churches
- Underwriting preachers' salaries
- Providing facilities for churches
- Publishing periodicals, books, and helpful materials
- Children's education and evangelism
- Educating and equipping preachers
- Medical and relief assistance
- Various parachurch ministries: church camp, nursing home, and publications
Most new churches are planted through the mother/daughter concept. An existing congregation provides the leadership to develop a mission station that grows into an independent congregation. Efforts are also made to reach into the large cities of Poland to plant new churches. See map.
Salaries for most preachers are provided through Polish Christian Ministries. One or more USA congregations make a commitment to provide the monthly salary for a Polish preacher. Polish Christian Ministries assists the local congregations in providing adequate facilities for their growth. Most of the labor for buildings is provided by members of the congregation
Drogowskaz ("Guidepost") is published monthly by Paul & Dela Bajko, providing Biblical teaching, inspirational writings, and a newly translated song. Numerous songbooks and other helpful materials have been translated into the Polish language. The most recent publication is a history of the Polish churches. Copies are available in the Polish and English languages.
Slowo i Zycie (Word and Life) is published quarterly by Bronislaw & Nina Hury in Poland. It provides inspirational articles and thoughts on currents issues as well as news of the churches.
A Christian education team provides material for children's programs, Sunday schools, camp programs, and Vacation Bible Schools. Training is provided for teachers and children's workers so these programs can be developed in the local congregations.
Scholarships provide assistance to young men desiring a ministerial education. Sponsoring churches and individuals in the USA help with the costs of their education.
Assistance is provided in a limited way to assist those with great medical needs. Non-prescription medications are provided on a regular basis. From time to time relief funds are available to provide invaluable assistance for special needs.
Betania ("Bethany"), a home for seniors citizens, provides nursing care for those in need.
Ostroda Camp Christian provides opportunities for children from all over Poland to be challenged by the Gospel and be equipped to be Christian servants.
