POLISH CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES UPDATE
Our Purpose: Establishing and Strengthening Churches in Poland
We are beginning a monthly e-mail to friends of PCM. It is our intention that this update will give individuals, missions teams, and congregations timely information for meetings, for missions articles in newsletters, and for prayer emphasis. Our plan is to send this e-mail during the third week of each month so that you will have it for the next month's use. This month's update comes with our warmest wishes for a great observance of Christmas in your church and in your home.
JULY - AUGUST 2006, UPDATE #19
Greetings from Polish Christian Ministries!
It was good to see some of you at the North American Christian Convention in Louisville. Your kind words and joyful spirit provide a constant source of encouragement to us as we labor to establish and assist churches in Poland.
News from Poland:
On Sunday, July 9, a new Christian Church held its first services in Wroclaw. This city of 700,000 population, 80,000 university students, is located in western Poland. It is one of the cities identified by the Polish church leaders as strategic for church planting. This is the second church plant in such strategic cities within nine months.
The church at Lublin, Marek Charis, Minister, is meeting in a rented theater. It is adequate for the church’s needs with room for growth. This fledgling congregation has 3 home study groups with a goal of 6 groups by the end of 2007. Two baptisms this summer result from an evangelistic outreach at an art festival and the contact through home groups. A free concert is planned to reach troubled youth in the area.
The church at Koszalin continues to make progress with their building construction. They have been meeting in the first section for about a year. Now they are enclosing their new worship area. This chapel is far from being ready for worship services, but they had a baptism in their new baptistry before the roof was on.
There is exciting news from our new congregation at Krakow, Adam Panczak, Minister! They recently baptized several adults and one teen-ager. This congregation has been meeting since the first Sunday of November and averages about 45 in attendance.
We also received word that the church at Grudziadz, Andrzej Hara, Minister, recently baptized six adults. Evangelism is constant among our churches in Poland.
Prayer Notes:
Pray for those who are partnering with us and for more partners to share the financial responsibility for this vital evangelistic work in Europe.
Continue to pray for Ania Zapotoczny (Szczecin) – confined to bed with a difficult pregnancy.
Our “Moving Forward” campaign to raise an additional $50,000 before Dec. 1st will be most successful when backed by your prayers.
